Pay: $2,451.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dependable Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 26-week travel assignment in Springfield, Vermont. The RN will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and traumatic injuries in a fast-paced emergency department setting that operates 24/7 and serves approximately 14,000 patients annually.

The ideal candidate has solid ER experience, proficiency in emergency triage and critical care, and the ability to adapt quickly in urgent situations. Candidates must meet all compliance requirements and hold active certifications prior to submission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform triage, assessment, and treatment of patients presenting with emergency medical conditions.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency interventions in accordance with provider orders and hospital policies.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and response to treatments.
  • Provide trauma and critical care support to patients in life-threatening situations.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility’s electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in prioritizing and managing multiple patients.
  • Educate and provide emotional support to patients and families in crisis situations.
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures to maintain a safe patient care environment.
  • Float to other units as needed within the nurse’s scope of practice and competency.

Qualifications

  • Active Vermont RN license or Compact State license (required).
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a hospital setting (required).
  • Travel experience: at least 3 months preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (all required and must be in hand at submission).
  • Strong triage and critical thinking skills; ability to manage high-stress and multi-patient situations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must have own vehicle for travel.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
  • Note: Block scheduling and holiday RTO are not permitted for this position. Scheduling requests must be submitted with application.
