Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position  
Location: Memphis, TN 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Nights 
Pay: $2035/week  

Job Description:  

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. The Med-Surg Oncology RN will manage the care of patients with various types of cancer, addressing both their medical and surgical needs. This role involves administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms, providing post-operative care, and offering crucial emotional support to patients and their families. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and possesses a strong understanding of oncology care protocols.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related treatments.
  • Assess and manage patient symptoms, including pain, nausea, and fatigue.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical oncology patients.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes or adverse reactions promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, especially those related to handling hazardous medications.

Qualifications:  

  • Active RN license in Tennessee.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent oncology or medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
